There is so much to do with children in Coventry City Centre this Summer. 

You might be dreading the school summer holidays and you might be wondering how you are going to entertain the little ones for 6 weeks… Never fear, we are here to let you know all the things to keep the kids entertained and it is all on your doorstep.

Coventry Young Explorers 
The Coventry Young Explorers Trail was launched earlier this year and is a free activity which starts at The Herbert Art Gallery where you can pick up your activity sheet.
You and the children will embark on a ten-stop tour of major city centre spots including the old and new cathedrals, as well as the Herbert Art Gallery & Museum and Coventry Transport Museum to engage with the city’s celebrated history and discover some of its lesser-known quirks.

The Beach
Lower Precinct Shopping Centre are bringing a beach to the city centre from Monday 22 July through to Saturday 31 August, and each weekday will bring you something different from Arts and Crafts to Face Painting.

Sports fest 2019
Running from 13 August – 22 August Sports Fest is back and is going to be bigger and better than ever to celebrate Coventry being European City of Sport. Situated in Broadgate there will be a wide variety of activities to participate in throughout the event.

Dinosaurs 
Is your little one a fan of Dinosaurs? Don’t miss Dexter the real life T-Rex heading to the Lower Precinct Shopping Centre on Saturday 17th August from 11am.

Titan the Robot at The SkyDome
Pop down to The SkyDome on Wednesday 31st July (11am, 12.30pm & 2.30pm) for your chance to meet Titan, the famous performing robot! Titan will join us here at Skydome for some FREE family fun, his unique blend of comedy, street theatre and music will have both children and adults alike seriously entertained.

Playful Making
The Herbert Art Gallery will be running playful making sessions throughout the summer holidays. Beginning on 23rd July the first sessions ’All about me’ which will include creating life sized self-portraits. All sessions are drop in and it’s £2.50 per child.

Move & Play at Coventry Transport Museum
Explore an immersive world of games, challenges, and triumph in this must-see exhibition!
From disco donuts to nostalgic tennis, thermal cameras to tightrope walking. Adventure through 19 different activities, unearth the impact of movement on your body and put your senses to the test. The UK debut of Move and Play offers an unmissable experience for visitors of all abilities.

Cathedral Kids Events
Starting on the 29th of July Coventry Cathedral (every Monday & Friday between 2pm and 4pm) Free Family Friendly Activities. Noise, mess and movement play!

The Ballroom Climbing Wall
The Ballroom Climbing Wall is a great way for the kids to burn off excess energy over the holiday and they are offering special family rates of £18 between 12-4pm weekdays for 1 adult and 2 children.

Shakeaway
For the ultimate milkshake experience, head to Shakeaway located in the heart of the shopping district on Smithford Way. With over 180 ingredients there are an incredible number of combinations to choose from, you’ll need to take a seat (inside or outside) to figure out what you want!

Basement Browns
Basement Browns do a few things a bit differently to other pizza restaurants. The dough is an ancient recipe and is rested to break down the gluten so it’s not as heavy to eat as other pizzas. They also source local produce to complement the meats sources from regions of Italy.

Zizzi
Zizzi’s Italian Bambini menu offers a 3 course child’s meal costing just £6.50 it’s the perfect place to feed the children this summer.

Nando’s
Who doesn’t love chicken? Nando’s Portuguese style of chicken can be found on Priory Street in the city centre. They offer a range of spices and you can eat on the bone or in pittas, burgers or wraps.

Looking for something a little faster? Why not pop to the Food Canteen at West Orchards where there is sure to be something for everybody including  McDonald’s, KFC, Subway, Chopstix Noodle Bar, Cocoa Caffe, Krispy Kremes and LoveShake.
