As the nights draw in and the cold mornings return, it’s time for the ghostly ghouls and wicked witches to emerge for the creepy Halloween season.

The supermarket shelves are piled high with outfits, decorations, and the perfect Halloween snacks – but this year’s Halloween festivities in Coventry may look a little different as event organisers respond to the Covid-19 restrictions and necessary safety precautions. However, we’ve found some spooky events for you to take part in that will give you that autumn feeling.

Look out; Monsters are invading Coventry city centre! Eight massive, mischievous monsters will be descending on Coventry and taking over rooftops in the city centre. This imaginative and colourful Monster trail is completely free of charge, and families are encouraged to take on the role of ‘Monster Detectives’. Their job is to search the city centre to see if they can find all the mischievous brutes, give them names and, if the detectives are brave enough, even take photos with the monsters. The Monster trail is open for eight days and nights, so grab your torch and adventure out into the dark to find the illuminated beasts.

Join the Herbert Art Gallery this half term for their Festival of the Dead celebrations. Create some boo-tiful Sugar Skull Luminaries and other ghostly decorations to take home with you and decorate your house during this memorable time of year! Each child will receive their own sanitised box full of creative resources to ensure your families health and safety during this playful experience.

FarGo Village has got some frighteningly good treats in store for you at their Halloween Makers Market on 24 October. Their market hall will be filled with some of their favourite creepy creatives so visitors can celebrate Halloween in style. Get inspired for a whole new Halloween get-up as you look around the market stalls and grab a bite to eat at one of the villages delicious eateries. Fargo has track and trace in place on entering the venue, so please take a moment to fill in your details, don’t forget your face mask, and feel free to help yourself to hand sanitiser!

Trick or treat yourself this half-term with Halloween themed sessions at The Wave, 30-31 October. Take on six epic slides that are engineered to fill thrill-seekers with excitement. Experience the Torrent’s disappearing floors, The Cascade’s plunging pool and The Rapids’ super-speed slide. It’s the perfect family day out this half-term.
