The Phil Silvers Archival Museum
Location: Unit 2c, Far Gosford Street, Coventry, Unit 2c, Far Gosford Street, Coventry, CV1 5ED
It’s Coventry’s smallest museum – and in all likelihood one of the smallest in the world – but the Phil Silvers Archival Museum is a sight to behold.
It is dedicated to the life and work of the late American comedian, most famous for playing the role of Sgt Bilko in The Phil Silvers Show which ran on the BBC for 47 years.
Launched in 2015 it now boasts a generous display of personal effects kindly donated by Phil Silvers’ family. Fans of the museum include Tim Vine, John Archer, Phill Jupitus, Paul Merton, Nick Hancock, Paul Bradley, Captain Sensible and Mark Hamill!
